Fic: Cut's so deeply Chapter 10/11

Title: Cut’s so deeply
Fandom’s: Torchwood/Doctor Who
Pairings: Jack/Ianto and Doctor/Luna
Summary: A post ‘Meat’ fic. When a star gives it heart forever. When a star heart is broken their light goes out. Within one moment Jack broke Ianto heart, now Tosh and Luna must help Jack fix his mistake, before he loses Ianto forever.
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Gwen bashing and Gwack bashing.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood or Doctor Who, if I did we would have had Janto in the first episode and there would be no such thing as Gwack. I do own Luna Dusk and all other future original characters.
Author Notes: This idea came from watching ‘Stardust’ one too many times. This was suppose to be the last chapter, but I realized that both the Doctor/Luna and Jack/Gwen talk needed their own chapters.

Chapter 10

Watching Ianto sleep was one of Jack favourite past times, well anything that had to do with Ianto was one of Jack favourite things to do. But there was something about watching Ianto sleep that filled Jack with a strong sense of peace. It may be the way that all the tense and stress of working for Torchwood melted away, leaving Ianto features soothed and relaxed.

Yep, Jack was pretty damn content to spend the day in Ianto arms. In fact nothing could tear Jack form Ianto side.

‘Bang, bang’, unless that.

Grumbling under his breath, Jack forced himself to move away from Ianto. Stopping to pick up his discarded clothing, he pulled them on as he made his way to the door, wanting to answer it before they woke his sleeping lover.

Opening the door he felt his jaw drop at the sight of Gwen standing there.

“What the hell are you doing here?” Okay so he could have asked a little more kindly, but damn it she had no business been here, not after the trouble she caused yesterday. And somehow Jack knew that Gwen wasn’t here to check up on Ianto.

Gwen flashed a big smile, trying to hide the hurt she felt from Jack biting words, but she knew deep in her heart that Jack didn’t mean them and was happy to see her. “I need to talk to you Jack, and since you weren’t at work, I decide to stop by. Aren’t you going to let me in?” She asked sweetly.

Jack sighed and opened the door, knowing if he didn’t she would cause a big scene and he wanted nothing to disturb Ianto much needed rest.

Curiously Gwen looked around Ianto flat, realizing that she had never been to Ianto place, not seen much point in visiting. Her eyes lingered and trailed over the pictures that Ianto had, there were a few of Ianto and Tosh, Ianto with Luna, Ianto with both girls, but mostly there were pictures of Ianto and Jack. Gwen growled low in her throat as she looked at them. ‘To bad pictures will be all that Ianto has left.’ She thought happily as she turned to face Jack, knowing once she told him that she loves him, he will stop needing Ianto. Only to stop short at the look at Jack face, he was not happy and she could see a dark glint in his eyes.

Crossing his arms Jack glared at her. “What are you doing here Gwen?” He questioned in a low voice not wanting to awake Ianto.

Gwen took a step closer to him. “I needed to talk to you about what happen yesterday, with Rhys.” She started.

Jack could only stare at her. “Gwen, I am at home caring for my injured lover, and you didn’t think this could wait a few days? I know Luna told you that I wouldn’t be in for a few days. You had no right to show up here, go home Gwen.” Jack was not going to get into this with Gwen, not today, not when the wounds of nearly losing Ianto were too fresh.

Turning away from her, he reached to open the door when Gwen next words stopped him cold. “I would never chose Rhys over you, I love you Jack.”

Very slowly Jack turned to face Gwen, no emotion showing on his face; Gwen stared at him with love and hope in her eyes. “No, you don’t. You can’t love me Gwen, because you don’t know me. You love the hero, the fantasy that I am. But you don’t love me.” Jack told her gently.

Gwen shook her head, not listen to Jack words. “No Jack, you’re wrong. I do know you.” Gwen pleaded taking a step closer. Angry enter Jack eyes. “Oh really, didn’t you turn your back on me when I gave up Jasmine? You can’t handle seeing the darker side of me. It frightens you and you run.” Jack growled not wanting to do this now. A sneer over took Gwen face, “Oh and I suppose Ianto can?” She demands to know. “Yes, he can. Ianto sees me for me. He sees past the masks to see the real me. Ianto knows what I have done in the past and he accepts it, I have hidden nothing from Ianto.” Jack growled.

“But you trusted me with your secret that you can’t die, not Ianto.” Gwen was grasping at straws, but she couldn’t let Jack go now. Jack shook his head, feeling a mixture of pity and angry for her. “No, Gwen, I never told you, you found out when Suzie shot me. If it hadn’t been for that, you would have never known. Ianto on the other had, I told. I told him everything.” Jack was tired of this and decides he was done playing nice.

“But, you love me. I know you do. You wanted me since the beginning. Ianto is nothing but passing shag.” Gwen wailed.

Jack had enough. “Why, can’t you get it Gwen, I love Ianto. He is my other half the one I have been waiting my whole life for. He is the other half of my soul and the keeper of my heart. Yeah I have loved others, but none as deeply as I love Ianto. For it is him, and him alone that makes this curse of a life worth living and I’m sorry if that shatters what ever illusions you had about us,” Love shone brightly and deeply in Jack eyes as he talked about Ianto. “You shouldn’t have come here Gwen. The only place you should be today is at Rhys side.” Jack voice grew darker as a dangerous growl entered his voice. “Because if I remember correctly, you made such a big deal about Rhys yesterday and yet here you are declaring your love for me. Listen to me Gwen because I will tell you this only once, I don’t love you, I never loved you; you were a challenge, one that I have long since lost interest in. Go home Gwen, and don’t bother coming back until you get over yourself and know you can get along with Ianto and Luna, because no matter how much you whine about Luna, she is staying. And no matter how much you long to be in my bed, you never will.” Jack finished off in a growl, before grabbing Gwen’s arm and pulling her out of Ianto place. Not even pausing to say anything as he shut the door in her face.

Resting against the door he couldn’t believe how bad he let Gwen get with her delusions about them. He had been so sure that everyone knew he felt about Ianto. Two strong arms wrapped around his waist as a familiar body pressed against his back. Gentle kisses rained upon his shoulders and neck, Jack sighed in pure happiness as he relaxed into Ianto hold. “How much did you hear?” Jack asked softly hating to ruin peace that Ianto touch brought him. “All of it,” came Ianto soft voice. “I woke up the moment you left the bed. Turning in Ianto hold, Jack captured Ianto lips in a loving kiss. “I’m sorry, I had no idea how bad Gwen was. Believe me when I saw I never loved her in the way I love you.” Jack whispered against Ianto lips. Smiling Ianto brushed his lips over Jack’s. “I know where your heart lies, and nothing Gwen says or do will ever make me doubt that.” Ianto promised. The two stayed like that content to just be in each others arms, till the phone rang. Jack groaned and let a pout crossover his lips as Ianto moved away from him.

Chuckling at his pouting lover, Ianto picked up the phone after checking the id, “Hello, Tosh.” Slowly Jack watched as the smile faded from Ianto face. “Will be right there,” hanging up the phone Ianto meet Jack worried gaze. “The Doctor’s at the hub.” Ianto calmly informed his lover, where the calm came from he did not know. “Luna,” Jack whispered worry lacing his voice. Ianto could only nod, as he and Jack raced to get dress.
