Three days later
Captain Jack Harkness was not in a good mood, not at all. And for one simple reason, Ianto was well enough to return to work, which meant no more making love to his beautiful star all day and all night long. He was also still the tiniest bit jealous of the past that Luna shared with his Ianto and he wanted to keep Ianto all to himself, just a little bit longer.
“Cariad, will you please stop with the pouting? You knew we would have to return to work once I was better and stars do heal faster than humans.” Ianto pointed out, while secretly agreeing with his lover.
Jack’s shoulders slumped. “I know that, but I don’t wanna! Couldn’t we just take a vacation? We have more than earned one.” Jack really didn’t want to share Ianto with anyone. He was already picturing them at a lovely secluded somewhere, not anther living soul around for miles.
Ianto couldn’t help but give in and kiss Jack’s sweetly pouting mouth.
A kiss, which Jack deepened, trying to convince Ianto to give in and let him take him back to bed.
With great reluctance, Ianto forced himself to break the kiss. “Later Jack, now it is time for work.”
Jack pout only grew.
Ianto let a grin over take his face as he stood up from the bed. “But I am sure that the others will be late as usual and I don’t see why we can’t share a nice hot and long shower.” He called over his shoulder as he moved towards the shower, making sure to give Jack a nice view of his naked arse, which he might have wiggled just a little bit before disappearing through the bathroom door.
Jack scrambled after his lustful star, his pout instantly replaced by a leer across his handsome face as he bounced after Ianto into the bathroom.
Luna knew before anyone else, even the Doctor, that he was leaving soon. He was never one to stay in one place for long and three days with him had been more then she ever expected.
She planned to savour every moment they had together for now, because neither of them knew how long it would be until they saw each other again. ‘Someday I will travel with him, but until that time comes I am grateful for these past few days.’
“Luna, are you alright?” The Doctor asked softly as he sat next to his star.
The blond woman smiled at him and rested her head on his shoulder. “I’m fine, just thinking how wonderful our time has been. I know you will be leaving soon and I know I will be okay, because no matter what happens, you will always find your way back to me.”
The Doctor wrapped his arms around Luna and hugged her close, not willing to let her go just yet. He knew she was right; he would be leaving soon, but he also knew that no matter where he went, his home was with her. “I will always come back to you, I promise,” the Doctor vowed.
Nothing more was said as the two sat enjoying their time together.
Gwen had no idea what was going on with Rhys any more. He barely spoke to her and he looked so much happier lately. She had no idea why and it bothered her deeply, not knowing who or what could be making her soon-to-be husband so happy. ‘He better not be cheating on me! Doesn’t he realize how lucky he is to have someone as amazing as me in his life? In fact he is damn lucky I chose him over Jack,’ Gwen thought to herself with a snarl.
Rhys couldn’t help but be in a good mood and it was all due to one unexpected person. Who knew that trip to the store would do him a world of good. He thought back to that meeting with a fond smile.
Upon reaching the store, Rhys silently cursed himself for not just telling Gwen he was going for a walk. Now he is going to have to pick something, anything, up.
“My God, Rhys, what happened to you?” The worry in the female voice had him blinking. Looking up, he met the dark, concerned gaze of Kathy Swanson.
“What?” He asked a little bit dumbly.
With her free hand Kathy gestured to the white bandage just slightly visible under his shirt.
“Oh this, it’s nothing.” Rhys tried to play it off, but from the way Kathy’s eyes narrowed he knew she wasn’t buying it.
“You’re carrying your arm like you’ve been shot and don’t you dare think about lying to me. You forget how well I know you.” Kathy glared hard at him.
Rhys opened and closed his mouth, not knowing what to say to his old friend.
Kathy nodded her head, “Uh-huh, that’s what I thought. Come on, I’ll buy you a coffee and you can explain just how the hell you got shot and who I have to hunt down.” Without giving Rhys a chance to protest she linked arms with him and dragged him up to the check-out clerk with her.
Rhys knew better to argue when she got like that, so he just nodded and allowed himself to be propelled along.
Rhys will admit he had fun catching up with Kathy; he had let his friendship with her slide in order to keep Gwen happy. Gwen didn’t like the fact that he was friends with other women, and desperate to keep Gwen happy, he had distanced himself from his childhood friend. Even though he felt really guilty about abandoning a decades-old friendship, it was so much easier then putting up with Gwen and her screaming tirades. But those days of making Gwen happy were over and done with; in fact, he was having lunch with Kathy in a few days. He couldn’t wait. Just thinking about it brought a smile to his face.
A smile lit Tosh’s face as she heard Donna’s singing coming from her shower. The brash redhead had been staying with her to give the Doctor and Luna sometime alone or as Donna put it, “I have no interest in watching the mating habits of Time Lords. I’m just glad he found someone other then me he wanted to mate with.” Tosh had frowned in confusion at the last bit, but Donna made no effort to explain herself.
Donna was a breath of fresh air and Tosh would be sad to see her go when she left with the Time Lord.
Having her around kept the dreams away. Tosh shivered as she thought of her dreams. They were full of death and suffering, while at the same time making her feel more loved than she had ever felt before; they confused her greatly. Unable to stop herself, a piece of one dream came to her.
Black locks made of silk brushed against her neck, making her shiver in delight. Pools of deep brown looked at her like she was the most precious thing in the world, and to him, she was.
“I love you, Toshiko Sato, and no matter what happens today, I will find you again.” He growled out his promise as his eyes briefly became cat-like.
Standing on her tiptoes Tosh pressed a kiss to his lips. “I know and I love you too…”
Tosh sighed sadly; her dreams always ended before she could learn his name. ‘Maybe I should talk to Jack and Ianto; they may be able to help.’
Tosh liked the sound of that; she knew Jack and Ianto would give her any help they could. That decided it; she would talk to Jack and Ianto when they got back to work.
Owen gazed down at the woman he had brought home last night. Raven dark locks that fell to her mid-back, olive skin and hazel eyes, she was the same as every other woman he had been with since Jack disappeared all those months ago. He didn’t know why he sought out women with the same specific looks now; he had never been picky before.
‘It’s those damn dreams, I just know it.’ Dreams of a woman with hair as dark as the night sky and hazel eyes that would look at him with undying love. He had no clue who she was; all Owen knew was that not since Katie and Diane had he ever felt this type of love.
‘I’m broken.’ Owen didn’t know why he was telling her this. He had been on the pull for enough years to know you never, ever, discussed anything personal or emotional. Women talked, and the last thing he wanted was to gain a reputation as a shagging cry-baby.
Warmth and love filled those hazel eyes as her hands cupped his face; ‘You’re not broken, Owen Harper, not to me.’
Owen cursed as his dream came back to him in bits and pieces. ‘Damn it, woman, who are you?’
Flashes of a woman he doesn’t know, with hair as white as snow and skin as dark as night; she is his very own Storm and he loves her.
Desperation clings to them as he holds on tightly to her.
“No matter what happens, I will always find you, Andy Davidson. Trust in me and trust in this.” She places her hand over his heart.
Andy cups her hand as he looks into her dark eyes. “I will be waiting for you.” He promises.
Andy woke up with a start. It was the same dream he had been having every night for months and he still had no clue as to who she was. “All I know is I love her and I don’t even know her name.” Andy grumbled as he ran a hand through his hair.
The four of them stood on the edge of the roof as they over-looked Cardiff.
“They are beginning to remember.” A soft-voiced woman murmured, her white hair blowing in the breeze.
Blue eyes sparkled with that knowledge. “Good! Then we don’t have long until we can make ourselves know to them,” he stated in a cocky voice.
The white-hair woman at his side looked at him with worry. “She is with the Time Lord now; do not forget that, Michael.” She reminded him.
Michael looked at his second-in-command with pure confidence. “Yes, but the Time Lord never stays around for long; and you forget, Luna loved me in the year that never was. That love is still there.”
The other three shared a look of concern for their leader. He did not-or would not- see that his true mate was here and that the fiery redhead was a force to be reckoned with.
