Author Notes: This story idea can from watching ‘Stardust’ one too many times. I don't know when the next chapter is going to be up, my doctor has order me on bed rest, the infection in my lungs is getting much worse and I need rest. I hope to have the next chapter up on monday, if I feel better it will be sooner.
Looking in on Ianto, Luna smiled as she watches the moonlight cast upon his sleep features, bringing out his eternal glow. “Oh, Ianto, you are so wrong Jack does love you, more than you know.” She whispered to the sleeping man. Tosh phone call only add to watch she witness in the year that never was. “It wasn’t Gwen death who destroyed his soul, it was yours.” Her whispered confession echoed through the silent room.
In some ways she almost wished Ianto could remember that vile year, if only for himself to see the true depths of Jack love for him.
It was only one moment Jack and Ianto had been granted during that hell. If it hadn’t been for been the master plan to break Jack by witnessing the death of Ianto, than Ianto would have never gotten a chance to tell Jack those three powerful words or for Jack to finale admit what hold Ianto holds over his heart, she shudders to think of what would have happen to Jack if he let those words go unsaid. Still when the life left Ianto broken body, Jack never truly recovered he died in spirit that day and all that was left was a broken shell of the man.
“Why are men so stubborn? This would all be so much easier if you two just talked.” She growled lowly while glaring at the sleeping man. Her expression softens as she spotted his tears. “Oh, Ianto, why do you make this so hard on yourself?” She asked as she stroked his hair, smiling as he leaned into her touch. “You’re not going to like Tosh or me very much in the morning. But it has to be done; you and Jack need to talk before you throw everything away.” Luna whispered before she left Ianto to sleep.
Sleep didn’t come easily to Jack.
Sweat clung to him as memories from the past kept him locked in a never ending nightmare.
“No…please….not him….leave him alone….I love you…Don’t take him….NO…IANTO!” A terrified scream erupted from Jack lips as he shot up in bed.
His breath came in pants as he sought to control his breathing and calm his racing heart. Fear held a firm gripe over him. To real, it had been too real today. Not since time had reversed itself has he come this close to losing Ianto. Memories of that time and what if have mixed and paint images to horrible to bare. He can’t lose Ianto, not now, not ever. But he knows he will lose Ianto someday, and that hurts him more than anything the master could have come up with. A horror he has already lived.
Unable to sleep any more, in truth the idea of sleep made him shudder. He head up to his office to get some paper work done. A folded note with his name written in Tosh hand writing was sitting and waiting for him on his desk. Sitting in his chair he picked up the note wondering what Tosh has to say to him.
Normally I wouldn’t get involved in yours and Ianto fights. I love you like a brother but Ianto side is the one I will always pick. This time it is much different, and I fear what will happen if you don’t work this out.
Only I know where Ianto went, while you were gone Ianto spent most of his free time with her. Now before you get jealous remember that Ianto loves you. Yes there was something between Ianto and Luna but that was along time ago. That love has transformed into a powerful and deep friendship.
I’ve talked to Luna and she is expecting you in the morning Jack, her address is on the back. Make things right Jack, so much more is at stake than you know
Do not come back to the hub until you and Ianto have worked everything out. Owen and I can manage fine without you, but if anything big shows up I’ll call you.
The name of Ianto friend struck a cord deep within Jack. “Luna? It can’t be the same one.” An image of a blond flashed before his eyes, one the master had wanted to use. If she had any sense the star would have left earth once the timeline was fixed.
Glancing at the clock he groaned. He doubted when Tosh said Luna was expecting him in the morning he seriously doubted that they were talking about four a.m. looking at the piles of reports waiting him, he sighed and reached for the first one, this should keep him busy for the next few hours.
Morning came for to early for Ianto; he didn’t want to get up from Luna comfortable bed. To bad Luna had other plans. “Good morning Ianto. Time to get up, breakfast is almost ready, just enough time for you to shower.” Luna entered the room like a ball of sunshine.
Ianto glared at the beaming woman. “Luna it’s only 7 in the morning. Weren’t you the one telling me to rest?” He demands sleepily. Luna head bobbed up and down, “That is true, but that was before I found out we are having a visitor this morning.” She agreed.
Ianto blinked. “Who would be visiting at this time of the morning?” A feeling began turning in his gut. The sheepish look that Luna graced him with did not help any. “Lu, what did you do? Who is coming over here?” He asked panic begin to rise in his voice. Luna answer nearly had him bolting for the door. “Jack.”
Luna wasn’t fazed by Ianto glare or the ‘why Luna?’ that fell from his lips. Hands on her hips she returned his glare with one of her own. “You maybe fine with your light going out, but Tosh and I aren’t. Jack coming over here to talk to you,” she paused at Ianto panic look. “Ianto, he was devastated over his actions last night. He never wanted you to think he didn’t love you. Tosh talked to him last night and I think you need to hear what he has to say.” Whatever else Luna was going to say was cut of by the ringing of her doorbell. “That’s most likely Jack. Ten minutes Ianto and don’t even think about running.” Luna warned before going down to greet her guest who was in for a surprise.
Jack stood nervously on the front step of Ianto friend Luna house. He hoped he wasn’t too early, but he couldn’t stay away from Ianto any longer. He was surprise that he latest this long. He could hear footsteps approaching the front door; he fixed his most charming smile on his face, only for it to fall off at the sight of the person who opened the door.
“Hello, Jack.” Luna Dusk stood before him.
Well he’ll be damned.
